Sweet home Chicago. So sweet…until it hits November (lets be honest, October). I love Chicago; I don’t the Chicago winter. I was born and raised there, but I can honestly say, there are perks to living on the West Coast. Especially in the winter. As the temperatures begin to decrease, people flock inside. However, there are some reasons to come out of hibernation during the colder months. You could go to the Christkindlmarket, hit up the Maggie Daley ice rink or cozy up to strangers at Butch McGuires. However, one of my favorite activities is the Lincoln Park Zoo Lights.
Zoo Lights at the Lincoln Park Zoo
During the winter months, the Lincoln Park Zoo puts on a spectacular display – Zoo Lights! Bright lights, holiday music and a cup of coffee make this the perfect outing for couples, families or even the solo traveler (yes, I’ve gone alone before!). Best of all? Entrance to the Zoo Lights is free! Check their website though as sometimes they have special, themed nights, such as BrewLights (they serve craft beer for the adults).
Runs: November 25–27, December 2–4, 9–23, 26–31; January 1, 2017 4:30–9 p.m
Cost: Free
